The Hands of Respect have been invited to be part of the Baltimore Homecoming 'Parade of Gold' for Michael Phelps and other Olympians on Saturday 4th October 2008.
The Hands of Respect are an 8 foot tall, 5 ton granite sculpture of a male and female hand placed together to form the symbol of RESPECT.
A 10 ton block of granite was quarried by Keystone Memorials in Elberton Georgia, USA and sawn into two 5 ton blocks ready to be carved by well known Athens GA sculptor Stan Mullins.
The Hands of Respect were commissioned to be a tangible example and reminder of the symbol for respect.
